The Impact Data Xchange enables seamless, standardized sharing of impact data. It demonstrates that interoperability of impact data leads to more investments into SDG related solutions.

The Challenge
The global SDG financing gap is estimated at $4.2 trillion, and it continues to grow. Fragmented data and the lack of standardized information across the impact investment landscape hinder collaboration and coordination. This results in higher transaction costs and inefficiencies that hinder investment flows into SDG-related solutions.
Addressing the Challenge
The Impact Data Xchange aims to address these issues by
developing an interoperable ecosystem for impact data.
We will do this at two levels:
Vision Paper
We will lay out a pathway for engagement of key stakeholders across the impact ecosystem to advocate for universal impact data protocols. The goal is to build consensus around the need for a unified approach to data sharing and standardization.
Pilot
We will demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of data interoperability by focusing on a specific use case in a specific sector. We will develop an Open-Source data exchange protocol that enables exchange of standardized data.
The Opportunity
By building the Impact Data Xchange we want to demonstrate that interoperability leads to decreased transaction costs for:
Deal sourcing
Risk assessment
Deal coordination
Our goal is to demonstrate that seamless sharing of impact data in a standardized format can significantly boost capital investment in SDG-related solutions.
By March 2025, we aim to have a functioning pilot adopted by key ecosystem players, backed by a growing coalition of stakeholders supporting the Impact Data Xchange vision.
